Online Kettlebell Ranks

The World Kettlebell Community has created an Online Kettlebell Ranking System which is classified by country, sex, experience and weight. We have chosen not to follow the Kettlebell Lifts of Kettlebell Sport but introduce some new and exciting challenges.

Succumbo Challenge

This Kettlebell Challenge Succumbo is very taxing but designed in such a way that even beginners can enter the challenge and get a ranking, but still be very challenging to even the most seasoned Kettlebell veteran.

Challenge: Succumbo
Kettlebell
: One
Duration: Twenty Minutes
Count: Rounds
Level: Open to all levels

Exercises

  • Single Hand Swing (1 rep)
  • Swing Clean (1 rep)
  • Front Squat (1 rep)
  • Switch (transition)

ATTENTION

The swing needs to be with a fully extended arm and come to at least 70 degrees past the knees, straight in-front of you would be 90 degrees. Depth of the squat needs to be below knee line for it to count. Video needs to be shot side on, include a clearly visible digital timer and be continuous, no editing allowed. 1 round is counted the moment the Kettlebell reaches the other hand.

IMPORTANT: rest when you feel fatigued, don’t hurt yourself for the sake of setting a good time.

This Kettlebell Challenge Surgo requires every muscle in your body and is more advanced than the Succumbo Challenge.

Count: Reps
Level: Open to intermediate and up

Exercises

  • Turkish Getup Lunge Style (1 rep)
  • Switch (transition)

ATTENTION

Start with the Kettlebell Overhead and perform the down phase of the Turkish Getup, Getup and switch, get the Kettlebell overhead, for intermediate this can be with a press, push press, jerk or any other way that’s safe, for Intermediate and up the Kettlebell needs to be brought overhead with a snatch. During the getting up or getting down phase the arm needs to be fully locked out for it to count, if the elbow is bent for longer than 2 seconds the rep does not count, the participant needs to be fully down on the ground with the head resting on the ground for 1 count. Video needs to be shot side on, include a clearly visible digital timer and be continuous, no editing allowed. 1 rep is counted the moment the Kettlebell reaches the other hand.

This Kettlebell Challenge Procerus challenges your upper and lower body, the strict press will become the most challenging exercise after a while and will your true strength.

Count: Rounds
Level: Open to intermediate and up

Exercises

  • Strict Press (1 rep)
  • Jerk (2 reps)
  • Snatch (3 reps)
  • Switch (transition)

ATTENTION

The strict press needs to be performed without any momentum generated by the body and the arm should be fully locked out at the top of the press with a count of 1, meaning that you should keep the lockout position for 1 count at least, in other words, don’t press up and and pull it down right away. The Jerk is a push press with a second dip, count 1 on overhead lockout. The snatch is a full snatch with count 1 over head lockout. Video needs to be shot side on, include a clearly visible digital timer and be continuous, no editing allowed. 1 round is counted the moment the Kettlebell reaches the other hand.

 

Filming and Submission

Kettlebell ChallengeFilm in a properly lighted setting making sure the full body stays within the frame, film side on with a digital timer in clear sight, feel free to submit a front-on video as well, however, this is not required unless specified otherwise for the challenge. You can upload your video to youtube with the following details in the description.

The type of Kettlebell used does not come into play, all Kettlebells with the below weights are suitable.

  • 12kg
  • 16kg
  • 20kg
  • 24kg
  • Single or Double Kettlebell

 

Divisions

  • Under 65kg
  • 65kg to 75kg
  • 75kg to 85kg
  • 85kg to 95kg
  • Over 95kg
  • Open Division

 

Categories

  • Teenager
  • Adult
  • Senior

 

Level

  • Novice
  • Intermediate
  • Veteran

Novice: training less than a year
Intermediate: training less than 10 years
Veteran: training more than 10 years

 

 

Rules

The number one rule, whether novice or other level is that the technique of the exercises needs to be sound, this means no sloppy form is permitted, an example of sloppy form would be a front squat with knees buckling in and torso leaning forward excessively.

Resting

In Novice the lifter can rest by putting the Kettlebell down on the ground as many times as required.
In Intermediate and Veteran the lifter can rest in racked or overhead position only. If the Intermediate lifter puts the Kettlebell down the competition has ended and the time is recorded, however, a Veteran lifter is disqualified.

Adjustments

In Novice the lifter can touch the Kettlebell with the non working hand for adjustments as many times as required.
In Intermediate and Veteran the lifter can’t touch the Kettlebell with the non working hand and will be disqualified.
